Ars Captiva

Casa del teatro ragazzi (Youth Theatre)
The "Ars Captiva" project is a biennial Art Exhibition organized entirely by young artists (high school Art students), that aims at offering young students the opportunity to play a leading role in a collective artistic event. The third edition of Ars Captiva, which will take place in 2011, has an intermediate stage in 2010 through which young people can begin to get familiarise themselves with the scale of the production that aims to realize an exhibition on the theme of confinement and Art as means of freedom.
A preparatory seminar will take place in 2010 for the awareness of students of performative theatre and the relationship between Art and prison. Therefore, a few meetings (3 in the month of March) will take place with theatre and cinema members who have been involved for years in activities with prisoners.  This phase will be followed by a theatre workshop on the specified themes (25 - 30 April from 10.00 - 18.00), a photography exhibition of theatrical experiences that transpired during the Ars Captiva 2009 (26 April - 10 May); lastly a book-catalogue will be published concerning all Ars Captiva performative experiences.

Pala Olimpico
An exhibition will be organized in the foyer proposing a re-reading of the material exhibited over the previous editions at the ex-prison “Carceri Le Nuove†through an accurate and articulate documentation (installed in the cells; sculptures, videos etc.).
